Trace the whole sound path

  • Identify when the noise occurs and whether it is low-frequency traffic, voices, aircraft, equipment, or intermittent impact sound.
  • Check whether sound is strongest through glass, operable joints, perimeter gaps, vents, walls, or another opening.
  • Compare manufacturer test information for the exact size, operation, and glazing package.
  • Define removal, insulation, perimeter sealing, trim, and repairs at the opening.
  • Ask how field conditions that differ from the tested assembly will be handled.
